A Message from Our Chair
Together we are changing the way the world thinks about health and life. This special event is a culmination of time and hard work that many volunteers put in to support the mission of the American Heart Association. We hope that you will come and enjoy the evening and leave with many treasured memories and mementos.
Like many of you, my family has also been affected by heart disease. My mother suffered from a stroke a few years ago and this Memorial Day my mother-in-law was in heart failure which resulted in a double bypass surgery! This is why I ask you to help me in support of the American Heart and Stoke Association. The Lafayette-Oxford-University community has proven to make a difference in the battle against heart and stroke disease and the money raised here will go toward valuable research and education in our community … changing and saving lives — reducing disease, disability and death. The work that all of YOU are doing is leading to real, lasting change. For this, we would like to thank our sponsors, artists, volunteers and you for making this event possible.
I am honored to serve as the 2012 Oxford Heart Ball chairman. This truly is a pleasure to meet and work with so many wonderful people who support the efforts of the American Heart and Stroke Association. Thank you again for your generous support and unwavering commitment to our mission!
Warm greetings to all,
Meriwether Houston Shelton
2012 Oxford Heart Ball Chairman
